Consultation launched on NHS service plans in north east Essex

The North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (NEE CCG) has outlined several proposals in a bid to take the pressure of Colchester General Hospital’s accident & emergency department, and deliver better quality care.

It hopes to provide more care closer to home, either in the home or the community, for services such as stroke rehabiliation and falls prevention.

Other proposals include turning the minor injuries units at Clacton and Harwich hospitals, and the Colchester Walk-in Centre, into urgent care centres to deal with non-life threatened patients who would otherwise go to A&E.
