Do I need to retrain my staff to use
Simple answer NO.
The initial Go Live is planned to give the least disruption to workflows and basically the NHS does not have the money to re-train staff to use a new system.
Staff should see very little difference and any changes are likely to be in styling.
Where staff may have a problem is if they are not using the system as intended and have some work around in operation. It is possible that the new system may impose a more disciplined use to ensure no patient is lost in the system.
What organisations do need to be aware of is the future changes to the use of the system and extending the appointment bookings to follow up and diagnostic tests as part of the whole referral to treatment pathway. These changes may have a significant impact upon how organisations manage and release appointments especially where there are capacity problems already.
