NHS e-Referral Goes Live

Well strictly speaking our web site is now live, as a successor site to  chooseandbookit.

e-Referrals the NHS successor to Choose and Book (C&B) goes live on the 15th June.

This new format allows users to interact and add comments. If you have something you want to say a lot more about get in touch with us and we will be happy to carry articles from others.

As an interactive web site we intend to provide a forum for users to make comments and pick up new knowledge and understanding from posts.
We look forward to the exciting new functionality that is promised with e-Referral and extending deployment to follow up appointments. For many patients follow up appointments remain a complete unknown with multiple cancellations and little opportunity to choose a date and time convenient to the patient.

What would you like to see the e-Referrals system enable? We know that self referral is on the wish list and the facility to schedule diagnostics as part of the treatment pathway.

Many organisations struggle with the booking of new referrals. When patients are booking their follow ups and check x-rays it will challenge all current aspects of hospital appointment administration. Unless clinical staff and managers come together and embrace the changes the clinic administrative staff are the ones who will face the grief and the wrath of the doctors.
