Teens show the way to use technology

The age gap between the ageing leaders and shapers in NHS healthcare and those who have grown up with technology in their hands is shown with this innovative App developed by Cheshire school pupils. The article is from the Sentinel local paper.

PUPILS have won an award for designing a game which teaches young people how to treat minor injuries without having to go to A&E. The use of technology in this way shows the way the younger generation see how technology will change the way they access health.

Imogen Howard and Abigail Lewis, from Sandbach High School, decided to create the app to help ease the pressure on overstretched hospital accident units.

Now their first aid game has earned them a Big Bang ‘healthcare in innovation’ award. They beat secondary schoolchildren from across the North West in the competition to design a new healthcare product.

The app educates users on how to treat themselves with natural remedies.
